*Serhovus was on one knee, one foot, and one hand. He was looking out into the snowy distance. Small bits of ice had begun to build up on his beard and hair. He was breathing slowly, a large white cloud emitting every now and then. Serhovus was wearing a thick fur coat, thick fur leggings, and thick boots. He had a long thin sword on his left hip, a fine pointed dagger on his right hip, and a long bow on his back with a quiver of arrows. He continued to sit there, he was at the edge of the woods. It was a seemingly dark place, as though it was night all the time. Serhovus then stood, he hadnt seen anything for the whole three hours he had sat there. He turned and headed back to a den built of wood, he went inside. It was actually bigger than it looked from outside, infact, outside it looked like a den for a medium sized animal. Though inside, it was dug down deep and wide. There was a small circle of stones with a fire in the center. There was a matress of twigs and fur near the fire, with a fur blanket. Serhovus went and sat on a log he had next to fire, he warmed himself, but kept close attenition to the exit of his home. He soon went and lied down on his bed he had made himself. He didnt close his eyes though, he just kept his eyes looking at the exit hole.*

*A deep, long, howl emanated from the surrounding forest, and several more began, as if in response to the first*

*Serhovus did not flinch from the noise, he just kept an undiverted stare on the exit hole. The only thing he really disliked was the night, and that was his reason for watching the entrance. He knew what it would bring, and he dreaded the thought. He continued to lie on his bed, a few cold bursts of wind would come in every now and then, sending a chill up Serhovus's spine. Night was coming upon him, there was nothing he could do to avoid it. He closed his eyes and tried to rest, and forget about what could happen.*

*Another howl came, further away than before. Then another and another, all further away than they were before. The last one came just seconds after the others stopped, but not from far away.*

*He still did not move, even from all the noise. His nerves were as hard as steel. He continued to rest, hoping he could ride out the cold bitter night in his small home.*

*The howling stopped and instead, sniffing began to start up*

*Serhovus opened his eyes, they were not normal, they had a yellow iris now, and a slit for a pupil. He leapt up out of his bed. Muscle began to immediately form and hair started covering his body. His ears pointing like that of a dogs, and canines showing from his growling mouth. Long black claws were now visible. His clothes were torn apart and looked raggedy. He moved to the exit without a noise, and he listened.*

*The sniffing stopped and turned into a soft whining, nothing began to run, indicating extreme hunger.*

*Serhovus was silent, waiting for the intruder to fall into a deadly trap.*
